Recent Leeds City Council TV Advert for Fostering

This is the latest TV Advert from Leeds City Council who are looking for carers to foster young people from aged 11 to 17 years old.

Commissioned by Leeds City Council it was produced by Chaz McAlpin of Dark Horse Media who is the founder of AbilityTV.

Grace's Story - UK Carers - not forgotten

UK 6 million + Carers should not be forgotten. This short film written and Directed by Michael Lacey is worth watching. The film was supported by and part financed by Chaz at AbilityTV. 

It tells the story of a fifteen year old Grace who lives with her little sister Abbi and her mentally ill mother. Having recently spent six months in a care home, Grace has vowed that she and Abbi will never go into care again.

April 2015 Coast to Coast Challenge

This April Debbie North and her husband Andy plan to complete the Coast to Coast using a Terrain Hopper. Not only is she completing the crossing but also raising funds for the Calvert Trust, an excellent charity who provide accessible activities for those who have some disabilities.

Nicolas Hamilton confirms 2015 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship Programme with AmD Tuning

UK racing driver Nicolas Hamilton, the younger brother of Formula 1 world champion Lewis, will become the first disabled competitor to participate in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. 

The 22 year old, who lives with the neurological condition Cerebral Palsy, will enter five race weekends of the 2015 BTCC season, competing in an Audi S3 NGTC with AmD Tuning.

It is brought to you by an award-winning team of disabled journalists – Emma Tracey and Damon Rose – with help from guest contributors who all have personal connections to disability.

Ouch goes behind the headlines of disability news, and also lifts the lid on the little details about being disabled that are not widely talked about. 

PROJECT: ‘MINDFUL’ – MENTAL HEALTH DOCUMENTARY

Mental health affects 1 in 4 people in the course of year with depression alone estimated to affect 350 million people globally. MiNDFUL; is a documentary that compares the attitudes towards mental health in the the UK and America.

They are looking for anyone who has experienced difficulties with mental health at some stage in their lives who would be willing to talk to us and possibly appear in the film. We hope that by interviewing people with a first hand experience we can help end mental health stigma.
